José Luís Santín Vázquez

Jose Luis Santin, known in the wine business as ”El Maestro”, has been more than 40 years elaborating wines. He has been one of the founders of the Bierzo Appellation and instigator of the modernization of the Godello and Mencia vineyards, collaborating for this purpose with the enological station of Rueda in the microvinifications of the different experimental sections.

Santin has a profound knowledge of Bierzo’s vineyard understanding and interpreting the Mencia varietal according to its location in the different county growing areas, the terrain and its maturity level. Also he has been forerunner in the elaboration of white wines with Godello and Doña Blanca.

“With the arrival of new trends driven by the young enologist we are constantly learning and recycling ourselves to finally try to make the wines that our fathers did”.

Miguel Tienda Baena

Miguel Tienda Baena, a young enologist from Cordoba in southern Spain and coincidentally born in the small town of Doña Mencia, town with the same name that the native varietal of El Bierzo. After several experiences in other regions he joined our winery where his youth and new elaboration ideas makes him the perfect complement to our technical team.

He is in love with the native varietials and with the characteristics of the area and its vineyard; he has been a promoter of our new high-end wines as Carracedo and Gotin del Risc Godello Lias.
