 According to the Ministerial order of June 3rd of 1988, the wines made in El Bierzo can join the established Bierzo Apellation.
The Regulator Council is authorized to control the grape transactions, musts and wines that are not protected by the appellation and that are elaborated, commercialized or transit inside the production area.
Its competences will be determined:
- In the territorial by the respective production and growth area
- According to the products, for those protected by the Apellation.
- According to the people, by the ones registered in the different registrations.
