The VinDuero-VinDouro Association invites the media to the 2013 Arribe Awards Gala. This ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 30, in Trabanca (Salamanca) at La Retoñera de Arribes Restaurant.
The Arribe Awards, now in their ninth edition, honor the best wines from Spain and Portugal. In August, a tasting committee composed of winemakers and professionals with international careers evaluated the 320 wines submitted to the Arribe 2013 International Wine Competition, the largest wine competition in Castile and León. In this edition, a total of 93 wines were awarded—43 Portuguese and 50 Spanish—representing 36 different denominations of origin from both countries.
Among these winners, BODEGA DEL ABAD has obtained two SILVER awards with ABAD DOM BUENO GODELLO 2012 and ABAD DOM BUENO MENCÍA “SEÑORÍO DE VALCÁRCEL” 2011.
On November 30, the wineries will collect their awards during a celebratory gala. The event program will begin at 7:00 PM with the reception of the award winners and authorities. This will be followed by the opening of a tasting room personally attended by the participating wineries, where guests can sample all the award-winning wines from the competition. At approximately 8:30 PM, a presentation titled “How to Sell in the USA Market: Case Study of Commercial Action in Miami” will be given by David Parejo and Juan Antonio Álvarez, two members of the Spanish Association of Foreign Trade Professionals (ACOCEX). At 9:00 PM, a celebratory cocktail reception will be held, during which the 2013 Arribe Awards will be presented. During the Gala, the Special Award for Best Design and Corporate Image among all participating wines will be announced.
