Bodega del Abad has received the GOLD MEDAL at the XIII Bacchus 2015 International Wine Competition held in Madrid, organized by the Spanish Tasters Union. This recognition once again confirms the prestige and excellence of one of the classic winemaking references in El Bierzo.

Specialized journalists, sommeliers, winemakers, Masters of Wine, and Masters of Sommelier were responsible for evaluating the wines present at Bacchus, following the OIV/UIOE application standards.

This wine is the finest example of the Mencía variety produced by Bodega del Abad. Its great character and structure are defined by aging in French oak barrels, a process that grants it a high state of maturity. Among its organoleptic characteristics, its harmony and elegance stand out, defining it as a signature wine.

CARRACEDO 2013 was bottled in January 2015, and its production is limited to 25,000 bottles. Crafted in a completely artisanal manner, this reference is characterized by the utmost care that Bodega del Abad takes in selecting grapes from its vineyards, which have an average age of 85 years.
