This pursuit of excellence leads us to achieve success both nationally and, as is the case with the medals referred to in this article, internationally. The entire team is proud to share with you the three medals our wines obtained at the International Awards Virtus competition, including a Grand Gold, the highest distinction.
Thus, the competition jury awarded our Abad Dom Bueno Godello Esencia the only Grand Gold medal for white wines within the Bierzo Designation of Origin. This wine continues to add accolades, as as we told you on our blog, this 100% Godello white was included in the April wine selection of the specialist publication Verema and was chosen by the national digital newspaper ESdiario as one of Spain’s three benchmark white wines.
In addition to the Grand Gold medal, our Abad Dom Bueno Godello was recognised with a Gold medal at the International Awards Virtus competition. Meanwhile, the red wine Abad Dom Bueno Laderas del Norte received a Silver medal.
The International Awards Virtus Competition
This international competition is held annually in Lisbon and features a jury made up of 24 prestigious tasters who score different samples of wines, spirits and oils from around the world.
It is worth noting, in order to highlight the objectivity and meticulousness of the medals awarded, that experts from different countries evaluate the participating wines using the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine) tasting sheet, undoubtedly the leading international body in the wine sector.
