Abad Dom Bueno Mencía (Carbonic Maceration)

A bright ruby wine with strong floral, red fruit and sweet spice aromas. Made wholly with the red grape of El Bierzo—mencía—from vines with an average age of 35 years grown at an altitude of 650 m in the localities of Villafranca del Bierzo and Valtuille de Arriba. This wine is made by a very particular method in which whole grape bunches ferment in open 500-litre oak barrels for ten days. On the palate it is fresh and balanced, with subtle tannins that give it complexity and all the fruit flavours offered by the mencía grape. It should be savoured at a temperature between 13°C and 15°C.
